Dave Keystone The Fastest Talking Entertainer On Snapchat

Dave Keystone The Fastest Talking Entertainer On Snapchat

Dave Keystone | The Key To Snapchat Happiness Is Rock Solid Comedy

davekeystonesnapcodeinfluencer“Back in the 1990s I was a stand-up comic and in comedy we have a term called pacing or comic timing.
Its when to pause, when to hit a specific word. That makes our comedy work.”
Darrell “Scooter Computer” Stern CEO of Stern Inbound Marketing

When you only have 10 seconds a snap, this might seem impossible, but not for Dave Keystone.
His fast paced one-liners, energy, and tone take you on a fun, funny and really addictive journey from Bar Mitzvahs to trips around the world.

We sat down with this Snapchat Comedic SuperStar to ask him how he discovered Snapchat and how it has changed his life.

SCSMM: How did you first discover Snapchat?

An ex-girlfriend insisted that I get on Snapchat to communicate with her. Shortly thereafter I was cast on a campaign by an airline to travel and Snapchat my experiences. Through that, I became a more consistent snapchatter.

SCSMM: Why do you think Snapchat has taken off?

Originally because people were excited by the idea of sending content that would erase itself. It then developed into an app that combines communicating with friends, with being able to post to your story (essentially your own reality show), with the ability to take in curated publication content. It combines three desirable elements that people want.

SCSMM: What do you like to Snap about?

Getting through life.

SCSMM: Why should everyone follow you on Snapchat and watch your stories every day?

I’m not convinced they should, (believe me, EVERY ONE OF YOU SHOULD) but if they do tune in, what they will receive is comedic based observations about life. I like to keep things funny and interesting. I’m very much a reality based program that keeps things fun.

SCSMM:What would you recommend someone do just starting out on Snapchat?

Be yourself and have fun with it.

SCSMM: Have you ever been hired to represent a brand or product on Snapchat?

Yes.

SCSMM: If so which ones?

WOW Airlines, Taste Toronto, and Access Education, to name a few.

SCSMM: How do you develop your Snapchat stories? Are the spontaneous or do you plan them out?

Completely spontaneous.

SCSMM: What else do you do? What is your business?

I host television, host and produce content and events, and snap J

SCSMM: How do you think Snapchat has helped your life and business grow.

Through WOW Air Snapchat sent me on an amazing summer tour of Europe and Iceland. I then piggybacked off the experience and went to Morocco and Guatemala.

Snapchat gave me a daily audience with whom I can exercise my comedic sense, and share fun things.

SCSMM: Who are YOUR favorite influencers on SnapChat?

To be honest, I don’t tune into specific people’s content. I follow back everyone who follows me, so my story list is literally thousands of people. I scroll through strangers’ content and find that to be the most fun. I do however keep track of what Frankie Greek, Scott (IntrepidEscape), and Georgio.Copter are up to.

Slightly Special | Snatchat Comedian

Slightly Special | Snatchat Comedian

Slightly Special | On FIRE Comedy

slightlyspecialuseHow about this: a professional Aircraft Firefighting Instructor who has discovered that he has an amazing talent for IMPROV comedy.

SlightlySpecial’s rants and funny business using Snapchat lenses and filters is second to none.

He also can be quite philosophical and gives real true life lessons in his comedy. A YouTube master as well, we sat down with SlightlySpecial to talk about his rise to Snapchat fame.

SCSMM: How did you first discover Snapchat?

I discovered Snapchat a couple of years ago when a friend of mine asked me to join her in a Ten second video. “Why ten seconds?” Was my question and she said “Because Snapchat only allows you to take videos ten seconds at a time for my story”. As soon as I watched her story I was hooked! In my head I knew Snapchat was going to be fun but at the time I had no idea that I would use it to connect with so many people from the world.

SCSMM: What do you like to Snap about?

I love to create short comedy sketches at least three times a week.I realized people don’t always want to hear inspirational quotes over and over and over through someone just saying them all the time, so I decided to create content with a positive message through comedy. I created different characters to get different points across which allows me to get away with saying things I couldn’t if it were just me. I would say 90% of my snaps are created based on a “Shock and Awe” factor. I love to keep high energy and a positive message but be warned. I do end up cursing a lot, it’s very raw but seems to get the job done.

SCSMM: Why should everyone follow you on Snapchat and watch your stories every day?

I’m not afraid to talk about things that others would normally want to avoid. Not to mention I’m a huge fan of shoutouts and building a solid network with other like minded and creative people. Also, my friend chubbs and I get our blog ideas and skit ideas for our YouTube channel from Snapchat, who ever gives us the topic we throw their Snapcode up onto the video and give a lot of promotion to that individual for helping us out!

SCSMM: What would you recommend someone do just starting out on Snapchat?

Set the tone by being yourself and try to come up with creative and unique call to actions by people who view your story. Try not to trend what everyone else is doing, nothing is worse than watching 50 Taco Tuesday stories from 50 different people. Creating content that reflects your values and morals and remember that your story is your story, so don’t let anyone else tell you how you should run your Snapchat account. Just go for and and have fun!

SCSMM: How do you develop your snapchat stories? Are the spontaneous or do you plan them out?

My Snapchat stories are ALWAYS improv. Whenever I’m in a really good mood or just have a great idea it’s easy for me to make a quick skit because my mind tends to over flow with ideas based off my mood and surroundings. The only time my stories are planned is if I’m collaborating from another persons idea, but even then content that’s created ends up random but always makes for a great story.

SCSMM: What else do you do? What is your business?

I have a professional career as a Aircraft Firefighting Instructor in the military, but I also run a new YouTube channel called TOPAZKIN with one of my great friends Who is known as Chubbs on Snapchat (chubbsway). It’s always a blast and a lot of time before we make a skit we will use Snapchat to test the idea and get people’s feedback and input prior to production.

RyanRaps And LukeGoodall Snapchat Collaborators

RyanRaps And LukeGoodall Snapchat Collaborators

Luke Goodall | Ryan Raps

Luke GoodallryanrapzTwo amazing talents are working together to create Snapchat stories that are funny, musical, and entertaining.

How about this, A FULL MUSIC VIDEO premiering ON SNAPCHAT?

Yes, it CAN be done and these guys did it. We sat down with Ryan Raps And Luke Goodall to ask how they use Snapchat to marketing their talents.

SCSMM: How did you first discover Snapchat?

RyanRaps: Break room at work, back in 2011. Some girl mentioned ‘secret sexting app’ and the rest is history…

SCSMM: Why do you think Snapchat has taken off?

lukegoodall: It’s more personal and raw than other social media too and the stories feature introduced us to a new and engaging way of filmmaking that people have really responded to.

RyanRaps: The Youth! Snapchat is urgent, and limited edition. Here today, gone tomorrow. Everything is more important and special when it’s based around that. This is a platform parents, or massive corporations can’t just take over. It has it’s own secret language you have to learn first, and you have to keep up to be relevant. The youth do that naturally.

SCSMM: What do you like to Snap about?

lukegoodall: I love micro vlogging on Snapchat and creating a story on the fly. You’ll often you’ll see me snapping from film shoot I’m on, the writing process before hand and being completely stressed out in the editing room. I love showing fans the complete package and how it all comes together.

RyanRaps:  I try to think of my snap story as a vlog, but with quick, sharp stories and punchlines. I also like to make it as personal as a text message. So if that means showing everyone what I’ve recorded today, or rehearsing a new song – then I do that. I’d send the exact same thing to my producer anyway. You can’t really go wrong when involving your fans.

Something else I’ve been dabbling in is doing ‘mini-documentaries’ e.g the making of my last album, just talking about each song track by track, explaining the artwork etc. I’ve also done an album review which was also mixed with my reactions as well, and that seemed to get some great feedback.

SCSMM: Why should everyone follow you on Snapchat and watch your stories every day?

lukegoodall: Because I’ll follow you back 😉 Nah I’m kidding. I’m a filmmaker so naturally I try to turn everything in my day into a story. Recently I created and released a music video entirely on Snapchat, I am always trying to challenge myself to come up with innovative ways to engage with an audience. Come watch me try and do that!

RyanRaps: In the past year I’ve started to realise a lot of fans don’t realise what goes into your art when you’re a one-man show. I try to bring them ‘behind the music’ as much as possible, it’s an absolute roller coaster.

SCSMM: What would you recommend someone do just starting out on Snapchat?

RyanRaps: Part of Snapchats charm is that it allows your personality to be your ‘brand’. Sounds corny, but it’s true. Look at the rise in popularity in DJ Khaled on Snapchat. That’s his personality, and he’s that 110% of the time. As cliche as it sounds, just be yourself. But it’s alot harder when theres a camera on you, so the more you do the more natural you become.

lukegoodall: Watch others Snaps and take note of what is engaging to you and what doesn’t work. Experiment with filters, text, drawings and emojis and try to make every Snap as creative as you can.

SCSMM: Have you ever been hired to represent a brand or product on Snapchat

lukegoodall: I write and star in a web series sketch show called Goodall & Gallagher and we will be doing a Snapchat takeover of the Melbourne Web Fest account soon, Cannot wait.

RyanRaps: No, but Jordan Brand if you’re reading this we’re all ears 😛

SCSMM: How do you develop your snapchat stories? Are the spontaneous or do you plan them out?

lukegoodall: We had a well thought out plan for the Snapchat music video but as we continued to experiment with the technology and find new ways to shoot a shot we ended up going with the flow and that worked out really well for us.

RyanRaps: I’m guilty of planning them out every now and then. Such as an album review, or a long ‘vlog-type’ story. But I also think the spontaniety also adds to Snapchats charm. Sometimes if there’s a blooper I leave it in on purpose.

SCSMM: What else do you do? What is your business?

lukegoodall: I have a web series sketch show on Facebook called Goodall & Gallagher (www.facebook.com/goodallandgallagher) and it’s probably worth putting a link to our Snapchat music video here too: https://www.facebook.com/iamrylandrose/videos/1144986315540875/

It’ll be going back on Ryan’s Snapstory soon too so more people can watch it how we intended.

RyanRaps: I’m an independent Hip-Hop/Rap musician from Melbourne, Australia. I’m self funded by my fans using patreon (patreon.com/rylandrose) and my second passion is social media. Most of the time, I try to fuse the two.

SCSMM: How do you think Snapchat has helped your life and business grow?

RyanRaps: Prior to our ‘Snapchat Music Video’ we’d always released music videos using YouTube or Facebook. As soon as we released this video it was easy to see we were onto something here, the response was immediate. Uploading the video to Facebook for everyone to see only cemented that.

SCSMM: Who are YOUR favorite influencers on SnapChat?

lukegoodall: Shonduras, Liza Koshy & ocarinaoftime32

RyanRaps:

BobbyHundreds – Co Creator of streetwear brand ‘The Hundreds’. Has amazing insight into Social Media.

NBA – Easily the most forward-thinking and advanced professional sports league in terms of social media.

Kylie Jenner – They don’t call her King Kylie for no reason

DJKhaled305 – Another One.

Inadequate Chris

Inadequate Chris

Inadequate Chris | Snapchat Comedian

inadequate chris Snapchat Comedian Influencer“I’m still learning how to be a human. I make YouTube videos for some reason.” proclaims on his twitter feed.

Inadequate Chris bases his comedy on how socially interact with other people in a funny way.

VERY FUNNY.

SCSMM: How did you first discover Snapchat?

All of my social media friends were talking about each others snaps and it got to the point where I was feeling left out! I caved and downloaded the app, and haven’t looked back since.

SCSMM:  Why do you think Snapchat has taken off?

I think the key to Snapchat’s success is the 10 second time limit and the 24 hour expiry of videos. People are after their content immediately and want to consume it quickly, and this is the perfect platform for that. The time limit also forces influencers to be more creative with how they present their stories, which in turn produces higher quality content.

SCSMM:  What do you like to Snap about?

Most of my snaps are self-deprecating jokes or a satirical look at life.

SCSMM: Why should everyone follow you on Snapchat and watch your stories every day?

Hey, if you want to feel better about yourself, watch me talk about my own life.

SCSMM: What would you recommend someone do just starting out on Snapchat?

  1. Download the GhostCodes app and discover the popular Snapchatters.
  2. Watch their content to get a feel of what kind of content works well on the app, and what doesn’t.
  3. Get creative and come up with your own original content.
  4. Start reaching out to other Snapchatters to start building your community.

SCSMM: How do you develop your snapchat stories? Are the spontaneous or do you plan them out?

If it’s a quick one-snap video I’ll just do it on the spot. If it’s something that takes a little more planning (for example requires props or music) then I’ll make a note of it on my phone so I don’t forget it. Then I’ll perform it when everything is ready.

SCSMM: What else do you do? What is your business?

I’m a web designer by trade, but my passion lies in my YouTube channel. I make comedy sketches about socially awkward situations to help people that suffer from social anxiety. People seem to relate to it well!

SCSMM: How do you think Snapchat has helped your life and business grow.

It’s helped my YouTube channel grow a bit, but more importantly Snapchat has connected me to some incredible people. It’s the community that really makes apps like this worthwhile, and being able to befriend and meet these talented influencers is a life enriching experience.

SCSMM: Who are YOUR favorite influencers on SnapChat?

Piiinky, Billy Mann, Lisa Sansouci and imnickrobertson.

MannBilly | Comedic Genius

MannBilly | Comedic Genius

MannBilly | Comedic Genius

MannBilly Billy Mann Comedy Snapchat InfluencerDid you have a bad day? Is life giving lemons and you HATE lemonade?

Follow MannBilly on Snapchat. He delivers a series of one-liners, characters, puns, and all out groaners EVERY SINGLE DAY!

He is not only a comedic genius but also understands the consistency in delivering content WINS in Snapchat Social Media Marketing.

SCSMM: How did you first discover Snapchat?

I first discovered Snapchat when about 4 years ago, and would use it to send silly things to my close friends to make them laugh, then after moving to Utah to act/sing/dance/write with some famous YouTubers, I learned the potential of the app. We were making a video that was branded by the toy company Sphero, and I made the marketing team laugh, so they decided to send me to NY Comic Con October 2015 to take over their Snapchat. I was then introduced to the Ghostcodes app, where I proceeded to grow rapidly!

SCSMM: What do you like to Snap about?

I like to snap about all things silly. Whether it’s an unusual way to wake up, a grocery store fun run, or character adventures, you literally never know what to expect with my snaps! I understand that people like to develop a story, and sometimes I will create a story, but more often I love having each snap be a separate and unrelated joke. That way people remain engaged because they have no idea what silliness is coming next!

SCSMM: Why should everyone follow you on Snapchat and watch your stories every day?

Everyone should follow me on Snapchat and watch my stories every day because I have a simple goal. My goal is to help people smile or laugh every day with every snap when they otherwise wouldn’t feel the need to be happy. 🙂

SCSMM: What would you recommend someone do who is just starting out on Snapchat?

What I would recommend to someone just getting started on snap chat would be the same advice I would offer to anyone deciding to take the plunge in following any passion:

  1. Find a thing you like
  2. Learn more about that thing than anyone
  3. Be consistent about your thing, even if you get discouraged
  4. Reach out to people who also like your thing
  5. Work hard, stay humble, and repeat steps 2-4 🙂

SCSMM: What else do you do? What is your business?

Although snapping has become a big part of my life, my story has taken many roads. I am from Lake Tahoe, California and I used to be a professional competitive half-pipe skier until I blew my knee at the Olympic Qualifiers in New Zealand in 2013. I then got surgery and finished school May 2015 getting a degree in mechanical engineering. I realized though that all I wanted in life was to help people smile, so I got to work. Standup comedy, acting classes, dancing lessons, singing lessons, everything I could possibly learn to make that dream happen. Then I randomly met a famous Youtube filmmaker from Utah who thought I was silly. I turned down a job offer making warheads for the weapons division of the aeronautical component of the Navy, moved my whole life to a place where I barely knew anyone, and I got to work. In one year out in Utah, I have done professional voiceover work, modeling, acted in youtube videos that have surpassed a total of 30 million views, and am currently a casting option for a feature film for Paramount Pictures.
